Tim Newhouse, with support from Propel Youth Arts WA and DrugAware, is excited to launch his debut album. Five years after Tim first put a band of musical misfits together, the young musicians of the Tim Newhouse Collective will immerse you in a swathe of music full of sparkle, energy and complexity, with influences from Argentina, Norway, Denmark and Brazil as well as rural Australia.

Tim Newhouse is a composer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist. His creative work has an emphasis on fusing orchestral timbres with jazz, groove and electronic music. Tim’s compositions have been performed all around Australia as well as in France, Croatia, Japan and Wales. Tim was the 2018 Composer-in-Residence for the WA Youth Jazz Orchestra, with his new suite for jazz orchestra premiering in July. As an arranger and orchestrator, Tim has contributed to music by Michelle Nicole, Abbe May, Johannes Luebbers, the Perth Symphony Orchestra and the Perth Cabaret Collective.

It is with great gratitude to mention that this project is supported by Propel Youth Arts WA’s yCulture Metro grant program.
