Let’s do it again!
Feel like some Sunday breaks? We’ve got something new for you; a pop-up breakbeat banger with a nod to the sounds we love wrapped in outdoor vibes from your old mates, Boomtick. Old school is all grown up and out on a Sunday – scratch that itch with all your crew on a warm and sunny Sunday at The Rosemount with the phattest of them all, PLUMP DJs and STANTON WARRIORS.
The phat danceability of their tracks is a testament to this Plump duo – and it’s one of the reasons Perth has a lot of chubby love for them. The Plumps have been hard at it performing and producing together since the late 1990’s. They began as avid pioneers of diverse electronic music, smashing into the early breaks scene and delivering absolutely iconic albums A Plump Night Out, Eargasm and Saturday Night Lotion. Albums so huge in their own right they could’ve stopped right there, but they didn’t – so we won’t.
2001. The Stanton Sessions. What a way to burst onto the scene with brilliance and continue to deliver in production and performance ever since. In the studio, Bristol’s Mark Yardley and Dominic Butler have honed a trademark, uncategorisable sound is at once all their own, but also utterly indefinable. This phenomenal output and remarkable longevity has ensured the Stanton Warriors legendary status amongst not only their fans, but also their peers, as they remain fresh, original and relevant; obstinately dancing to beat of their own drum and helping to pave the way for new talent.
The Plumps + Stantons together = one hell of a double header.
And as a full nod to the OG crew, the unbelievable talents of Mr Finger Lickin’ himself, Jem Panufnik, created the art.
Can’t wait to see you and your crew – one more time!
