What do you do? I’m the new Social Media Coordinator at Rosie Hotel (Rosemount)
Why do you do it? I love music. Plain and simple I guess. I love the way it can transform your mood and mindset. I love the way it can make the hairs on my arm stand up. And Rosemount is such an iconic and fun venue. I get so much creative freedom and I really feel like I get to use all my skills in ways I haven’t before.
What do you love about the city you live in? We are so lucky here in Perth. I have a long list of why I love it here (near the top would be how good the coffee is) but I have to say the beaches. I know it’s a cliché answer, but they truly are the best. I tried to go to the beach in Wales once and it was brown sand and brown water! The beaches here are bloody beautiful.
Where did you go for your last holiday? Leeman. The place I stayed in had an air-hockey table – it was epic.
What’s your favourite item of clothing? Oof, that’s a tough one. Probably this amazing crotched flower jumper my friend Jade made me. It’s got huge, wide sleeves and every colour under the rainbow on it. It’s so cosy and beautiful.
What was your favourite TV show when you were a kid? I’ve got to say the OG ‘Sabrina The Teenage Witch’. In particular, that one episode where she eats too many pancakes. That show is so funny. I still watch it now. It holds up pretty well.
If you could travel back in time for a day, where would you go? Damn that’s a tough one. I think I’d want to go to Woodstock and watch Jimi Hendrix play. Kind of a cliché answer but like could you imagine? It would be insane.
If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook us? Spag bol for sure. Dad’s recipe. The secret is a lot of red wine – for me and for the sauce 😉
What’s the best lesson you’ve ever learned? Getting taught how to sow by my grandmother when I was little. Sewing teaches you patience, makes you creative, makes you value workmanship in clothing. Plus it is something I still really enjoy doing to this day.
Tell us one thing about yourself that nobody else knows… I’m on level 2077 on this game called ‘Manor Café’; it’s basically ‘Candy Crush’ except you design rooms haha. I play it whenever I’m in front of the TV because I can’t sit still.
Are you happy with your work/ life balance? Yeah, most of the time. I always make sure to book myself a three-day weekend here and there when I can. It’s not great for the bank but my mental health thanks me for it.
How do you define success? By the satisfaction you feel when you achieve success. It’s almost like a wave of relief like ‘yeah, I put my whole self into this and it feels good’.
What’s your spirit animal? I don’t have one in all honesty. But I think in my past life I was like a jellyfish or something. Just floating. Or maybe a dog. I’d like to sit around in pools of sunlight getting treats and love all day.
