A new face at Rosemount Hotel, get to know Robert Lee! We chatted with him to learn about his favourite moments at Rosemount, his love for metal, and a few fun facts you’d never guess…
What do you enjoy most about working at Rosemount so far?
I enjoy how welcoming all the staff are and that hard work gets recognised and rewarded. Everyone here is really nice and accepting and continues to answer my million questions about working here
Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of work that you’re passionate about?
love music and I am the singer in a Hard rock/metal band called Fragile Machines. I am a huge metalhead and first found out about the Rosemount by watching and then playing gigs there.
Music is my number 1 passion, I am also a bit of a nerd and enjoy reading, playing video games and going to the gym.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go, and what’s the first thing you’d do there?
I would travel to Ireland and spend time with my family as I haven’t been back in a few years.
Is there a particular moment at Rosemount that’s been memorable for you since joining the team?
A few weeks after I first started working at the Rosemount my band played at the 459, up until that stage I would have been the quiet new guy as I am not the most outgoing person. One of my co workers was on the bar that night and I think he may have been a bit surprised that I was on stage fronting a metal band.
What kind of music do you enjoy, and have you discovered any new bands from working here?
I am a huge metal head but like most kinds of music, I discovered a few bands when I went into the main room after a shift to catch part of Neomantra’s EP launch.
What’s one skill or hobby you’ve always wanted to learn but haven’t had the chance to yet?
I’d like to be able to draw as the best I can do at the moment is stick men.
What’s the best concert or live performance you’ve ever been to?
I saw Parkway Drive when they came to Perth this year and it was the best thing I have ever seen. They are my favourite band, and it was my first time seeing them live.
If you were stranded on a deserted island, what three things would you want with you?
A boat, food and water so I can leave the island.
What’s something most people wouldn’t guess about you just by meeting you?
I am a twin.
